Is it safe?
At Trapeze School New York, safety is our top priority. This includes both physical and emotional safety. Our experienced instructors ensure a supportive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive and discover their own unique talents. Whether they're swinging from the trapeze or crafting masterpieces, your child's safety and enjoyment are always our utmost concern
Is it only flying trapeze? What are some of the non-circus related activities?
Absolutely not! Kids will learn a range of circus skills. This includes, juggling, spinning plates, clowning, stilts, aerial arts, trampoline, human pyramids clowning, of course some flying trapeze and more!
Camp also has a range of activities outside of circus arts! They will vary from day to day but will include traditional camp activities such as “Capture the Flag,” Arts and Crafts, t-shirt decorating, pieing a councilor, face painting, relay races and more!
My child has never done circus, is that okay?
Not only is it okay, it's part of what makes circus camp awesome! Regardless of experience all campers will leave with smiling faces and demonstrable skills. Our teaching artists are trained to teach at all levels, and meet and celebrate each camper at any and all levels.
My child has done a lot of circus, is that okay?
Absolutely! We will train all campers to the level they wish to be trained!
My kid is at the top or bottom of the age range, will they be socially comfortable?
We both mix ages and separate them when needed. For example if we are face painting or doing arts and crafts we may mix groups, but when it is time to juggle we will separate groups by age to best match them at their coordination level.
My kid wants to do more than one week. Will it be redundant?
Not at all! Circus builds on itself! Campers will simply continue to grow their circus vocabulary and learn new skills that we purposefully vary from week to week. We look forward to watching them grow! Please reach out to us about our multi-week discount!
Can you send me photos of my child at camp during the week?
TSNY will send out updates throughout the week to parents as well as grant access to a digital photo album!
A PERFORMANCE?!?
Yes! The campers do not only learn circus arts they get to share it with their friends and families. On Friday the kids will perform in a circus show! Friends and family are not only invited to attend, but encouraged and welcomed with open arms.
What Should my kid wear to camp?
The easy answer is whatever makes them feel comfortable, and most themselves. The longer answer is anything athletic. For flying trapeze and aerial classes, form fitting clothes that cover your knees are ideal, e.g. joggers, leggings, leotards, sweat pants etc. That said kids can come in whatever summer clothes they like best, and change when it is time to be in the air. No jeans no zippers (Bonus points if whatever they like best comes with a clown nose.)
Do you offer scholarships or have payment plans?
If the price of camp is prohibitive please reach out to [email protected]
My question is not here!
